BOSTON — A man with ties to Indiana is wanted for a Massachusetts murder that happened 40 years ago.

It was October, 1981 in Norton, Massachusetts. Robin Shea was shot through the chest with a .45 caliber revolver. She died and was dumped on the side of the road, where a passing driver eventually found her.

Andrew Peter Dabbs was accused of killing Shea, who was his girlfriend, and he was eventually indicted for murder in November of 1981. A state warrant went out for his arrest, followed by a federal warrant in September of 1982. He was charged with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

The FBI says Dabbs was an auto mechanic with ties to many different cities in many different states, including Fort Wayne, Indiana. The FBI did not clarify what kind of ties he had to Fort Wayne. His last known address was in Derry, New Hampshire. Investigators say Dabbs also has ties to Colorado, Florida, New York, and Pennsylvania.

Dabbs is a Black man with brown eyes. He was 38 at the time of the murder, and would now be 78 years old. In 1981, he weighed around 180 pounds and was about 5 feet 10 inches tall. He had a mole on the right side of his nose, a scar on his arm and skin grafts on his leg from a burn.

The FBI is offering up to $20,000 for any information on Dabbs. Anyone with any info should call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324). Tips can also be submitted here.
