MARION, Ind. — A suspect has been arrested for the shooting death of an 18-year-old Marion man who was killed Friday night, says the Marion Police Department. 

Marion police officers were called to the 300 block of West 30th Street around 10:24 p.m. Friday.

Officers found Enrique Alcorta, 18, at the scene with a gunshot wound to his chest. Alcorta was transported to Marion General Hospital where he later died.

Police have arrested Jomar Xavier Worthy, 35, for fatally shooting Alcorta.

Worthy was identified as a person of interest early in the investigation and was later arrested. He is being held in the Grant County Jail without bond and he is facing a preliminary charge of murder.
