Indiana Wins CFB National Championship, Completes 16-0 Perfect Season

STATEWIDE–Monday is the beginning of what will be a week filled with snow, rain, and some freezing rain, according to the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Around one to two inches of snow is expected to fall in much of central Indiana through Tuesday morning.

“In the Indy metro, we’re probably looking at more like an inch from today (Monday) and into tonight,” said Mike Ryan, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis. “We have a couple of systems that are going to impact us through Thursday.”

Ryan says the heaviest snow will be south of Indianapolis.

“We think the impacts are going to be a little greater when you get down towards Seymour, Bedford, and down towards Vincennes. They may see at least two inches. We have a winter weather advisory down there,” said Ryan.

The Winter Weather Advisory begins at 4 pm Monday and lasts through 7 pm Wednesday.

“We get a break on Tuesday. Then we have a larger system that is moving into the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys Wednesday and Thursday. It does appear that there will be enough cold air in place for precipitation to fall mainly as snow across central Indiana and the Indy metro. As we get south, we may see a little freezing rain. That could bring us another 2-3 inches of snow over those couple of days. Portions of central Indiana could get anywhere from 3-4 inches over the next few days,” said Ryan.

Ryan says temperatures won’t get any higher than the mid-20s this week. Low temperatures will be in the single digits.

Another winter weather system is supposed to move in sometime next week.
