STATEWIDE–Rain is supposed to return to Indiana beginning late Wednesday night and last throughout the day Thursday.

“Pretty much the entire state should see widespread showers through Thursday and Friday. We don’t expect any thunderstorm activity really, but we would advise people to stay away from high water,” said Joe Nield, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Rain from the weekend means some areas could have high water.

“Just because the water is steady or falling, it doesn’t mean the water isn’t still dangerous. It’s not likely to worsen the high water we’re seeing now, but it could prolong it. We may see some ongoing minor flooding,” said Nield.

Nield urges you to remember the phrase, “Turn around. Don’t drown.”

“Some places could get between a half inch to an inch of rain. Another cold front moves in with these showers too. Temperatures won’t get out of the 50s for the next several days,” said Nield.
