INDIANAPOLIS — Parts of downtown Indianapolis were shut down early Sunday morning after shots were fired on South Meridian Street. That’s between Georgia and Louisiana streets.

A shooting involving three vehicles started in a parking lot. Bullet holes were found in windows of cars and nearby buildings, including the Homewood Suites hotel, but there were no reports of injuries.

Indy Metro Police say officers responded to the area around 1 a.m. and found multiple shell casings. The area was cleared as a safety precaution.

The suspects ran away, and no arrests have been made.

Less than 24 hours prior, a man was shot and killed on the north side of Indy, near 32nd Street and Capitol Avenue. He was pronounced dead at the scene around 8:30 a.m. Saturday. No arrests have been made for that shooting either.
