INDIANAPOLIS–Indianapolis is the fifth most polite big city in the country, according to a survey by the website Preplay. Yet, some people in the city apparently display some of the most common rude behaviors in cities across the country.

The people conducting the survey asked 1,500 people in each of the 30 largest metropolitan areas in the country several questions, including: What rude behaviors do people in your city have a problem with?

In Indy the answers included people paying too much attention to their phones in public, not letting people merge into traffic and people driving cars not slowing down for people who are walking.

The survey also says Indy residents were split on who is rudest: people who are native to the city, or transplants.

The rudest cities in the country, according to the survey, are (in order) Philadelphia; Memphis; New York; Las Vegas and Boston. Indianapolis enjoys the company of the top five most polite cities, which are (in order): Austin; San Diego; Ft. Worth; Nashville and Indianapolis.
