INDIANAPOLIS — Six people shot, one of whom was killed in separate shootings across the Capitol City Sunday night and into Monday morning.

The night began with two shootings on the north side of downtown. One along 38th street near High School Road. The other near 34th and Denny Street. Then early Monday morning two people were shot along North Somerset Ave. just two blocks north of 16th street and west of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Both people survived and will be okay, say investigators.

The fatal shooting happened downtown. Police say 14-year-old Curtis White, Jr. was shot and killed along Walnut Street near the Canal Walk.

“Officers with the IMPD downtown district were dispatched in reference to shots fired,” said Ofc. William Young with Indy Metro Police. “Officers discovered a juvenile male with injured consistent of gunshot wounds.”

Young said White later died. He added there was a group of teenagers in the area at the time of the shooting and they are talking to witnesses.

Then at around 4:00 a.m. police say they got a call about a child shot on the east side along East Brookside Avenue. That child is expected to be okay.
