The President Has COVID-19
WASHINGTON–President Biden tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday, said White House Press Sec. Karine Jean-Pierre. She said in a prepared statement that Biden is experiencing mild symptoms and is taking the treatment Paxlovid.
Jean-Pierre said, per White House policy, everyone who has interacted with the president is being informed. That includes members of Congress.
Biden’s last COVID test was Tuesday and was negative then.
The president, who is 79, is fully vaccinated and had boosters in September and March, said the White House.
Pres. Trump caught COVID during his time in the White House, and was treated for several days after testing positive.
