AUBURN, Ind. — Two burglars were shot and killed by a homeowner in Dekalb County early Sunday morning.
State police say four people broke into the home around 6:00 a.m. Sunday at a home along State Road 8.
As they meandered into the home they were met by a man with a gun. He was the homeowner and he fired at the burglars, hitting and killing two of them and then holding the other two, Tabitha Johnson and Shaun Kruse, at gunpoint until the police arrive.
Both were arrested and now face charges of murder and burglary.
Rameica Moore, 36, of Fort Wayne, and Dylan Morefield, 22, of Churubusco were the two burglars killed. The homeowner is not facing any charges.
