INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man is facing federal firearms charges. Police believe it was Antonio Wooden, 23, shown on a video aiming an AR-15-style rifle in the direction of IMPD officers Saturday night during riots in downtown Indy.

U.S. Atty. Josh Minkler said that federal authorities were able to identify Wooden in a video firing at least one round at police at Pennsylvania and Market streets, then moving out of the frame. More shots are heard.

At his house on East 19th St., police found the American Tactical .223 rifle, at least 60 rounds and two magazines. There was also a small amount of marijuana.

Wooden had been convicted of battery previously in Marion County and was wanted on drug charges in Ohio. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a fugitive from justice and unlawful possession of a firearm by a user of a controlled substance.

“Freedom of speech and the right to protest are freedoms that all American have. Illegally possessing a firearm and firing at police are not.” said Minkler. “Mr. Wooden was not peaceably protesting, he was terrorizing and endangering the lives of those that were, including the police officers”
