INDIANAPOLIS – William Boles was sentenced Monday to 60 years in prison for the 2019 murder of Kelly Rohr.

On June 9, 2019 officers were called to E. Minnesota Street where the two lived, for a wellness check. The caller told police that no one had heard from Rohr recently and a neighbor heard yelling inside the home the night before.

Responding officers searched the home and found Rohr lying face down on the bathroom floor. Boles was at the house when police arrived, he told officers that she had been on the bathroom floor for most of the morning.

Rohr was taken to a hospital in critical condition. Paramedics say she had serious injuries including hematomas on her forehead and bruises, scratches, and abrasions all over her body. During the incident, she suffered a stroke and later died on June 10th.

Boles was found guilty after a jury trial.

“The tragic death of Kelly Rohr is a reminder of the link between domestic violence and homicides. As a community we must remain dedicated to providing resources and support to break the cycle of domestic violence,” Prosecutor Mears said. “Today’s aggravated sentence underscores our commitment to holding abusers accountable.”
