Alyssa Shepherd Trial Begins Today in Fulton County

Shepherd faces five charges, including reckless homicide, after passing a stopped school bus and killing three children last year.

ROCHESTER, Ind. -- Prosecutors in Fulton County will start to make their case today against the woman accused of driving around a stopped school bus last year, hitting and killing three children and seriously injuring a fourth.

The jury was selected on Tuesday -- six women and six men.

Alyssa Shepherd faces three charges of reckless homicide, one charge of reckless driving causing injury, and one charge of criminal recklessness.

Nine-year-old Alivia Stahl, and her two younger twin brothers, Xzavier and Mason Ingle, were killed in the crash.

The case led to a new state law focused on school bus zone safety.
