FISHERS, Ind. — Backlash from parents at Hamilton Southeastern High School after a student was allowed back on the swim team after being accused of sexual harassment.

The school says the student was allowed to swim in a sectional meet over the weekend after having served a suspension over the accusations.

With the suspension, the student in question would have missed the required participation standard in order to compete in the sectional meet, but the school asked the IHSAA to make an acception and the association granted it.

Parents were outraged Saturday, saying the school is sending a message that students will not be held accountable for threats of sexual assault.

In the meantime, Fishers police say they are looking into the sexual harassment claims.
