Ball State University Adds Emmy Winner to Staff
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Ball State University is adding an Emmy Award-winning musical director to its staff.
Michael Rafter, known for his work on Broadway, will be the new associate professor of musical theatre at the university.
During his career, which started in 1984, Rafter has been a music director, an arranger, music supervisor, conductor, and musician.
Rafter won an Emmy in 1994 for his work as the musical director for "Gypsy." Most recently, he was the musical director for the musical "Violet," which was nominated for numerous Tony awards in 2014.
He has also worked on other Broadway shows like "Swing!," "Thoroughly Modern Millie," and revivals of "Sweet Charity," "The King and I," and "The Sound of Music."
