Billboards Show Support to Vandalized Carmel Synagogue
INDIANAPOLIS--Twelve digital billboards across central Indiana are showing support to a Carmel synagogue that was vandalized with anti-Semitic graffiti over the weekend.
The billboards all read "LOVE" and have a Star of David inside the "O."
They went up on Tuesday and stretch from South Bend to Mooresville. Two of them are on I-65 and two are on I-70.
The billboards are owned by Lamar Advertising, Outfront Media and Fairway Outdoor Advertising. The companies said they wanted to share a message of support for the Congregation Shaarey Tefilla, which was tagged with Nazi flags and iron crosses on Saturday.
The FBI is working with the Carmel Police Department to find the vandals. The Anti-Defamation League has offered a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is encouraged to call the Carmel Police Department tipline at 317-571-2580.
