City-County Councillor Jeff Miller Charged With Child Molestation
INDIANAPOLIS -- The Marion County Prosecutor's Office has charged former Indianapolis City-County Councillor Jeff Miller (District 16) with three counts of child molesting.
Miller has since been arrested and jailed on $10,000 bond.
According to court documents, Miller is accused of molesting two 10-year-old girls at different times between September 1 and October 20, 2017. IMPD searched Miller's home Oct. 21.
One girl told sex crimes detectives that her friend's father, who she identified as Jeff Miller, "did bad touch" to her several times. She said that Miller massaged her with his hands and with body massagers, which were described as a "spikey thing", a "blue blob", and a clear, "hand-shaped one with a smiley face on it".
The second girl, also a friend of Miller's son, came to investigators after she watched a news story about the Harvey Weinstein allegations and told her parents what happened.
She told police that Miller had been touching her in a way that made her feel "bad", and said that Miller gave her massages. When asked how often they "do massages", the girl said it was "pretty normal for them to do".
His attorneys say Miller plans to surrender peacefully to police custody.
Miller, a Republican, was first elected to the City-County Council in 2011. He was re-elected in 2015, His biography on the city's website describes him as "a proud recipient of the 2010 'Mayor's Community Service Award'."
