Columbus Man Arrested for Fatal Hit-and-Run

Columbus police say Eric Winship was driving the SUV that hit and killed Kyla Ortlieb.

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- The Columbus Police Department has made an arrest in connection to a fatal hit-and-run. 

Eric Winship, 27, of Columbus faces two charges -- Failure to Stop After Accident Resulting in Death and Possession of a Legend Drug Injection Device. 

Police believe Winship was driving the SUV that hit and killed 21-year-old Kyla Ortlieb, who was riding her bike at the intersection of 11th and Chestnut streets on Sunday. 

Winship is in the Bartholomew County Jail, with a bond set at $132,000. 

The investigation is ongoing.
