Community Health Network Announces Major Expansion
Community Health Network is expanding in a major way.
CEO Bryan Mills announced Thursday that they're investing nearly $250 million on two, new large building projects. They include a new $175 million replacement facility on the Community Hospital East campus and a new $60 million cancer center at Community Hospital North. He says the new cancer center is due to immense growth in the facility's cancer program that includes higher incidents of the disease. He says cancer volumes are up 250% and they've outgrown the current facility.
The new cancer facility will be a 100,000 square-foot building. Mills says the east facility will completely replace the current hospital on that site. They'll construct the new building while the current one remains in operation. Mills says it'll save $4 million a year and will be more adaptable to current needs like ambulatory and wellness services among others. He says they'll break ground on both projects by late summer.
