GRANGER, Ind. — Investigators know why the 11-year-old boy in Granger shot his father, who is an Indiana State Police trooper.

Trooper Matthew Makowski was shot by his son in the lower body last week, say police.

Court documents say the boy told police he was angry that his parents had taken away his video games the night before and had that he had been planning the shooting since school that day. He said devised a plan because he “was done with all of that” and “wanted it to end.”

The documents say the boy went out to his father’s ISP cruiser parked in the drive away and found his state issued handgun.

WSBT reports, the boy shot his father while he was lying in bed. His mother called police who arrested the boy when they got to the house.

He told them that he wanted a PlayStation, Xbox, and a computer, and that if he didn’t get those things there would be a “part two.”

The boy is in jail charged with attempted murder. His father is still in the hospital recovering.
