Danica Patrick Gets "Pretty Intense" With New Fitness And Diet Book

Patrick is promoting her new book while preparing to run her final race in the Indy 500.

INDIANAPOLIS – As she prepares to run her final race behind the wheel of an IndyCar during the Indianapolis 500 in May, Danica Patrick is kicking off 2018 with a tour promoting her new fitness and diet book.

Patrick’s book, “Pretty Intense,” is out in stores today.  She details a 12-week program which includes exercises, as well as recipes and suggestions for getting in shape.

She appeared on ABC’s “Good Morning America” to show off several of the exercises detailed in her book.

Patrick also talked with host Robin Roberts about the challenges of driving in NASCAR’s Daytona 500.

Patrick announced in Nov. 2017 that she would end her racing career with two final races.  She will compete in NASCAR’s Daytona 500 in February, followed by her final race in the Indianapolis 500 in May.

Patrick debuted at the Indianapolis 500 in May 2005 leading 19 laps and finishing fourth as a rookie.  She became the first woman to lead laps and become the woman with the highest finish so far in “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing.”

Patrick has competed in seven Indy 500 races from 2005-2011.  Her best finish was third-place in 2009.  She also has finished in the top 10 for six of those seven races.
