Decatur Township Teacher Killed in Car Crash Monday

The man who died in that crash was Trent Conn. Conn was a 6th grade teacher.

INDIANAPOLIS--A car crash killed a teacher from Decatur Township schools Monday morning on the southwest side of Indianapolis. 

Police were called to the 4400 block of Mann Road, which is just north of I-465. 

They say Trent Conn, 33, was traveling southbound on Mann Road, when he drove off the road and hit a tree around 12:30 a.m. Conn was the only person in the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Metropolitan School District of Decatur Township says Conn was a Gold Academy 6th grade teacher. 

The school district issued the following statement on their Facebook page: 

It is our regret to inform you that Trent Conn, Gold Academy 6th Grade Teacher, passed away this weekend in an automobile accident. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this difficult time.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 4-8 p.m., then again Friday from 10-11 a.m. at the River of Life Church on Kentucky Avenue in Indianapolis. A funeral service will follow at the church at 11 a.m., with burial to follow at Floral Park Cemetery.
