Deer Jumps Through School Window In Noblesville

The school was put on lock-down until the deer left through the main entrance.

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. -- Oh deer! That's what students and staff at Hinkle Creek Elementary School were saying when a deer jumped through a window and into their school.

The school was put on lock-down, said Principal Jack Lawrence in an email to parents.

The deer shattered a window and landed in the main hallway around 1 p.m. on Monday. It then pushed its way out the main entrance.

Lawrence said the police were called to make sure the area was secure. Nobody was injured and the lock-down was lifted after a few minutes.

The deer escaped into the woods on the south side of the school.
