Deputy Jacob Pickett Dies Monday Morning
LEBANON, Ind--The Boone County Sheriff's Office announced Friday that Deputy Jacob Pickett would not survive his injuries. Early Monday morning, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office posted a message to Facebook saying that Deputy Jacob Pickett had passed away.
"Jake is with his savior....
You will be missed by so many...but will live through us all...
Carry on Deputy Pickett, we will take it from here....
For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Police believe 21-year-old Anthony Baumgardt shot Pickett. Baumgardt, who was also shot during the incident, was released from the hospital Saturday and booked into the Boone County jail. He was later transferred to the Hamilton County jail.
Baumgardt has been charged on six counts:
-resisting law enforcement
-carrying a handgun without a license
-possession of marijuana
-possession of methamphetamine (two counts)
Doctors kept Pickett alive for more than two days so his organs could be donated.
