Design Contest Will Pick Logo for Indy's Bicentennial Celebration
(INDIANAPOLIS) - Indianapolis is getting ready for a birthday party, and seeking your help with the decorations.
The city is holding a design contest to pick the logo for its bicentennial next year. An advisory panel will pick an overall winner and youth winner, and you'll get to vote on a "people's choice" selection from the panel's finalists.
The winning design will be announced in January, and will be featured on posters, T-shirts, and other memorabilia.
The bicentennial starts next June but will stretch into 2021. The first settlers built cabins in Indy in 1820, but it wasn't until the following year that the city adopted its name and replaced Corydon as the state capital.
The entry deadline is September 1.
