Fatal Accident involving Carjacking-Victim Identified

An elderly man was killed Sunday morning in a crash following a carjacking in Indianapolis.

Police said after the reportedly stolen vehicle was spotted, the driver lead them on a chase but that vehicle ended up crashing into another car at the intersection of West 16th Street and East Riverside Drive.  The suspect in the stolen vehicle attempted to run from the scene after the crash,

The driver was taken into custody by IMPD K9 Officers.  He was was injured as a result of the accident and dog bite and transported by EMS crews to Eskenazi Health in stable condition.  

A 79-year-old man in the other vehicle was killed.  He is identified as George Porter of Indianapolis.
