Fifty People Arrested for Drug Dealing in Johnson, Marion Counties

More than half of the people arrested Thursday morning are charged with dealing meth.

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. -- A drug raid Thursday morning by local, state, and federal law enforcement agents led to the arrest of 50 people in Johnson and Marion Counties, according to Johnson Co. Chief Deputy Prosecutor Joseph Villaneuva.

Forty-nine of the people arrested in Operation: Weakest Link 2019 face charges related to drug-dealing offenses. Thirty-four of them are charged with dealing methamphetamine, Villaneuva said.

Thursday's drug bust comes about six months after 120 drug warrants were served in the largest "drug roundup" in Johnson County history, reports WIBC newsgathering partner WISH-TV. 117 of those people have been arrested.

Some people involved in the November roundup were also involved in Thursday's drug bust.
