Firefighters, Police Officers Hurt at Scene of Fatal Carmel Crash

The crash happened near Ditch and Queens Way shortly before 11 a..m Monday.

CARMEL, Ind.  - Two Carmel firefighters and three police officers were hurt Monday morning while working at the scene of a fatal crash.

According to the Carmel Police Department, the single-vehicle accident happened in the area of Ditch Road and Queens Way before 11 a.m.

Members of CPD and the Carmel Fire Department arrived and found a vehicle on its side and on fire. The two people inside the car were quickly removed and taken to safety.

One person died as a result of the crash; a second person is in the hospital.

The three firefighters and two police officers were treated for minor injuries, burns, or smoke inhalation.
