A Foot Of Snow, Winds Of 40 Miles An Hour Likely Saturday, Says WISH-TV's Randy Ollis

The wind gusts may produce near blizzard conditions with blowing and drifting snow, says WISH-TV Meteorologist Randy Ollis.

INDIANAPOLIS -- Up to 12 inches of snow and wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour are likely on Saturday, says WISH-TV Meteorologist Randy Ollis.

"We're talking about heavy snow Saturday into Saturday evening.  One model [is] spinning out 13 inches, another [is] spinning out 12 inches," says Ollis.

"We could easily see a good six to ten inches, maybe a foot or more of snow, Saturday into Saturday evening," according to Ollis, who says the main issue for this weekend's potential snow storm could be blowing and drifting snow.

"Unlike last Saturday, the winds are going to be a major factor.  This may produce near blizzard conditions here as winds may gust as high as 40 miles an hour," says Ollis.

This may be the second straight weekend that central Indiana has seen a considerable amount of snow.  Indianapolis measured 6.9 inches of snow on Saturday, Jan. 12.
