Four People Arrested After Police Chase In Zionsville Involving Stolen Cars

One of the cars was stolen out of Marion County. The other one was stolen out of Zionsville.

ZIONSVILLE, Ind.--A traffic stop turned into a police chase which led to four people being arrested Thursday morning in central Indiana.

Three of the people arrested were under 18. The other one was an adult.

Zionsville Police Chief Robert Knox says a Zionsville officer tried to stop a red car leaving Hunters Pointe Apartments around 4 for a traffic violation. There was another black car traveling with it and when they attempted to stop both cars, the drivers of both of them sped off.

The red car crashed into a tree and two people got away. The black car eventually came to a stop at a nearby subdivision. One person got out and ran away.

Police say both cars were stolen. One was stolen out of Marion County and the other one was stolen out of Zionsville.

They saw one of the people they were looking for walk out of the woods and get into a white SUV. They tried to stop that SUV, but the driver drove off and hit a Whitestown police car. Officers later arrested the two people in that SUV.

Shortly after that, police were called about a suspicious person at a Speedway gas station. That person was one of the suspects they were looking for and subsequently arrested.

Knox says one of the officers saw another one of the suspects walking down Ford Road and arrested him a while later.

Knox also says the Whitestown police car sustained minor damage and there were no injuries from that crash.
