Franklin's Artcraft Theatre To Honor Elvis With Showing Of Girls! Girls! Girls!
The movie is showing at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 5 and Saturday, Jan. 6.
Elvis would have been 83 on Monday, Jan. 8.
“The fact that he had talent as a musician, but he [also] could act. He had acting chops. And so that’s why he did as many movies as he did because he was a natural at it,” says Rob Shilts, the Executive Director of Franklin Heritage, Inc. and the Historic Artcraft Theatre.
Girls! Girls! Girls! was Elvis’s second of his three films that were shot on location in Hawaii. The movie was released in Nov. 1962 and features Stella Stevens as Elvis’s co-star. The film may be best known for featuring the song “Return to Sender” which peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard pop singles charts.
