Getting Back to Indianapolis Was a Nightmare for the Indiana Fever

After their game on Sunday night, the team had numerous roadblocks trying to get back to Indy in time for tonight's game.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indiana Fever are back in Indianapolis tonight to host the Minnesota Lynx in WNBA action at Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 7 p.m.

But the team is just glad they somehow made it back to Indy.

Natalie Achonwa, a forward for the Fever, tweeted about their travel issues after Sunday night's game in Seattle.

According to Achonwa's thread of tweets, their flight out of Seattle was delayed until 11:30 p.m. When the team finally boarded the plane, they had to get to get off because it had mechanical issues.

They finally boarded a different plane to Atlanta at 12:50 a.m. Monday morning. Every flight to Indianapolis was overbooked, and they had to wait in Atlanta and sleep at the airport.

Another photo showed that the team decided to bus their way back to Indy on Monday -- an 8-hour drive.

On their way back, the team had to stop twice -- once to switch bus drivers, then again because of mechanical issues on the bus. Achonwa tweeted "WE LITERALLY CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP."

The Fever finally arrived back to Indy on Monday night, nearly 24 hours after they left Seattle, and less than 24 hours before playing another game.

Tipoff tonight at Bankers Life Fieldhouse is at 7 p.m.
