Gov. Holcomb Files Cease-and-Desist Letters to Reveal, Indy Star
INDIANAPOLIS -- Governor Eric Holcomb has filed cease-and-desist letters to "Reveal" and "The Indianapolis Star."
I will not let the false accusations about IN state employees & me stand.
We have worked hard to create an environment based on accountability & fairness, where the rules are fairly applied to all based in truth.

The two publications accuse Holcomb of helping shift the blame for the death of Phillip Lee Terry, an Amazon worker in Plainfield who died in a forklift accident. They say he met with State OSHA investigators, telling them to back off the investigation into Phillip Lee Terry's death, with hopes that would help persuade Amazon to choose Indy for its HQ2.
"I will not let the false accusations about Indiana state employees and me stand," Holcomb said in a statement. "Unfortunately, other news organizations in our state have either published the same story in its entirety or other versions unchecked for truth and accuracy, further perpetuating a false narrative. There are many good, tough, and thorough reporters in the Fourth Estate who seek to educate by way of the truth. Unfortunately, when Reveal and the Indy Star worked in conjunction to publish a false story, it tarnishes journalistic integrity across the board and the public loses faith in where they get their news.”
