Guidance Counselor Accused of Stealing Prescription Drugs

Police say it happened at New Palestine High School.

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind--A guidance counselor is accused of stealing prescription drugs from New Palestine High School. 

Michelle Long has been removed from duty while the investigation takes place. 

New Palestine High School administrators say they were told that prescription medication was stolen from a locked cabinet in the school's clinic.

New Palestine police then arrested Long and charged her with theft.

The school district has increased security and surveillance in school clinics as a result of the arrest.
