Honda Celebrates Ten Years Of Auto Production In Greensburg
GREENSBURG, Ind. – When the first Honda Civic rolled off the assembly line on Oct. 9, 2008, the plant had 1,000 employees and was only building the one model of vehicle.
As Honda Manufacturing of Indiana celebrates its 10th anniversary, the plant now has more than 2,500 employees and builds the CR-V, the Civic Sedan and the Insight hybrid.
Tim Reisinger, Manager of the Greensburg Honda plant, tells Inside Indiana Business the business has grown beyond the company's original expectations and credits those working at the plant for its success.
"The local workforce was one of the things that attracted Honda to settle in Greensburg, Indiana in the very beginning," says Reisinger.
More than 1.6 million vehicles have been built in Greensburg over the past ten years.
