INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis International Airport has set a new record.

The airport says it had more than 880,000 passengers in March, which makes it the busiest month in the airport’s history.

Mario Rodriguez, Indianapolis Airport Authority Executive Director, says one of the main reasons more people are coming through Indy is the increase in nonstop service to destinations for families and spring break travelers. According to Inside Indiana Business, that includes new routes to Orlando; Las Vegas; Sarasota/Bradenton, Florida; Charleston, South Carolina; Austin, Texas; Seattle, and Paris.

Indianapolis International has had nearly 2.2 million passengers already in 2019. More than 9.4 million people flew through Indy in 2018.
