INDIANAPOLIS–The bills for Indianapolis Power and Light (IPL) customers will be lower.

The Indiana Regulatory Commission approved a plan that allows IPL to begin giving back $9.5 million to customers over the next six months.

The company says the bills are going down because of last year’s federal tax cut.

The typical customer will see their bill go down about $1.50 per month, but that also depends on the customer’s energy usage.
