Inmate Tries to Run From Bartholomew Co. Courthouse, Gets Tased

Police say an inmate tried to escape from officers while in court -- but was stopped in his tracks.

COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Police in Columbus say an inmate was tased while trying to flee the Bartholomew County Courthouse.

WCSI-AM in Columbus reports that Fredrick Dabner, 32, of Seymour had been in jail on a court order for not paying child support. While in the courtroom Monday afternoon, investigators say Dabner pushed past a corrections officer and tried to run away.

Another officer saw the incident on camera and was able to stop Dadner with a taser before he was able to leave the building.

Dabner is now facing charges of resisting law enforcement and escape.
