Kokomo Fire Captain Accused of Exposing Himself to Babysitter

Court documents say Granson dropped the towel he was wearing and told the girl, "This is for your fantasies."

KOKOMO, Ind. -- A captain with the Kokomo Fire Department is suspended without pay after being accused of exposing himself to his 14-year-old babysitter.

The girl told detectives that Thomas Granson II approached her wearing only a towel and then dropped it, saying, "This is for your fantasies."

She said Granson also walk around the house in his underwear and make sexual comments, such as "If I wanted to rape you I could because I'm stronger than you."

According to court documents, the girl told police she came forward out of concern for Granson's four daughters.

"She was afraid that something may happen to them or their friends or other babysitters somewhere down the line,” read the probable cause affidavit.

Granson was charged Monday for "performance before a minor that is harmful to minors."

He turned himself in at the Howard Co. Jail and was released.

Granson was placed on "indefinite, unpaid administrative leave" Tuesday morning, KFD Chief Nicholas Glover told WIBC news-gathering partner RTV6.

Granson is due in court Aug. 24.
