Kokomo Middle School Student Arrested For Bringing Gun To School

Police say it was the kid's fellow students who reported the gun to school leaders.

KOKOMO, Ind. -- A Bon Air Middle School student was arrested Thursday afternoon after bringing a gun on a school bus, the Kokomo Police Department said.

Authorities were notified that a student was in possession of the gun on a school bus around 3:45 p.m.

The gun was discovered and authorities arrested the student for possession of a handgun on school property Thursday afternoon.

Police said no threats were made, no injuries were reported and school was not disrupted. All students were safely taken home after school.

Kokomo police said students were able to report the threat to school and police officials quickly, keeping the community safe.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call Major Brian Seldon at 765-456-7284.
