Lafayette Man Sentenced to 120 Years for Killing His In-Laws

Franco Navarette was ordered to spend the rest of his life -- and then some -- in prison for killing his in-laws.

LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- A Lafayette man convicted of a double murder has been sentenced to more than a century behind bars.

Franco Navarette was sentenced Thursday to 120 years in prison for the murders of his brother-in-law and mother-in-law.

A jury convicted Navarette in January of shooting and killing Catalina Lujano and Gustavo Campuzano in 2017.

He told the judge through an interpreter that the deaths "destroyed his family."
