Lawrence Police: Shooting Likely Over Tax Return Dispute

The shooting remains under investigation.

LAWRENCE, Ind--A dispute over a tax return is likely what led to a fatal shooting at a tax prep business Tuesday, according to police.

Police say Antonio Bertram, 25, walked into the business near 42nd Street and Franklin Road with two firearms and shouted "What's up?" to the tax prep employee inside.

The employee was also armed with a handgun and fired two shots at Bertram. One bullet hit Bertram in the chest.

Bertram fled the office and fired shots outside before getting into his car, according to police. He was found unconscious a short time later and he died.

The employee has not been charged in the shooting, which remains under investigation.
