Police have taken 35-year-old Christian Ortez into custody

INDIANAPOLIS -- An arrest has been made in a double stabbing that killed one man and injured another man.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department apprehended 35-year-old Christian Ortez in a nearby apartment after they believe he was the person responsible for stabbing two men and fleeing the scene.

They were called to the 3700 block of La Fontaine Court around 7:30 p.m. Saturday night, which is not far from John Marshall High School.

They saw two men had been stabbed and arranged for both of them to be taken to area hospitals.

One man was in critical condition, but later died from his injuries on the way to the hospital. The other one is in stable condition.

Ortez is facing charges of murder and aggravated battery.
