Man Dead After Possible Home Invasion on Indy's West Side

Foul play is suspected, but not confirmed.

INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was killed Tuesday morning after a possible home invasion on Indianapolis' west side.

The incident happened around 1 a.m., in the 300 block of N. Mickley Avenue.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called on reports that a person was down inside a house. The 52-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

IMPD Homicide Detectives were investigating, but it's being treated as a death investigation. Foul play is suspected, police say.

An IMPD spokesperson said there were no signs of damage on the house, so if it was a home invasion, it's possible the suspect knew the victim.

The victim has not been identified.

It has been 10 days since the last confirmed homicide in Indianapolis.
