Man in Serious Condition After House Fire on Indy's Northwest Side

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire.

INDIANAPOLIS -- An early Thursday morning fire on Indy's northwest side has sent one person to the hospital.

The Indianapolis Fire Department says the house fire happened just after 4 a.m. on Beasley Drive.

A 23-year-old man that was inside was injured, and told police he ran away and was picked up by an ambulance at a nearby gas station. He is now at a hospital in serious condition.

Investigators are not sure why the man was in the house, because it was reported to be vacant. They're also still trying to figure out what caused the fire.

The house is a complete loss.
