LEBANON, Ind. — The man who exposed himself to Boone County Treasurer Debbie Ottinger has been sentenced to jail and probation.

Jason Shelley, 35, of Lebanon, pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of public indecency, according to The Lebanon Reporter.

Shelley told police in July that he exposed himself to Ottinger because “he scratched his belly and his pants fell down.”

Ottinger told police July 21 that she was driving down Washington Street in Lebanon when she saw Shelley walking with his gym shorts down and his genitals hanging out.

Ottinger said Shelley looked at her and kept walking and that she was “shocked when she looked at Shelley’s face and saw him smiling,” the Reporter said.

Shelley was sentenced to 48 days in prison and nearly a year on probation.
