INDIANAPOLIS — An inmate at the Marion County Jail has died. 

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office says Kerrington Tompkins, 28, was found unresponsive at the jail Monday a little after 3 a.m.

He was taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. 

The cause of death has not been determined. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, IMPD, and the Marion County Coroner’s Office are investigating. 

Tompkins had been in the Marion County Jail since Saturday on charges of Driving While Suspended, Resisting Law Enforcement, Possession of Meth, and Unlawful Possession of a Syringe.
