Muncie Man Charged With Strangling 5-Year-Old Boy

Dana Love is accused of attacking the boy on Sunday. He was convicted in 2009 of showing pornography to a 10-year-old girl.

MUNCIE, Ind. – A man previously convicted for showing pornography to a child is charged with strangling a 5-year-old boy. 

Dana Love, 53, of Muncie, is accused of attacking the little boy on Sunday while visiting the boy's grandmother, who is his neighbor.

The child told his mother and police that Love hit him in the stomach as they played around. Love then put his hands around the boy's neck and squeezed, according to a police report obtained by The Muncie Star-Press.

The boy was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial and then transferred to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. He is expected to recover.

Love was arrested and charged with battery on a person under the age of 14 and strangulation.

In 2009, Love was accused with showing pornography and sex toys to a 10-year-old girl. The Star Press reports he pleaded guilty to dissemination of matter harmful to minors and received a one-year suspended sentence.
