Muncie Police Accepting Cat Food, Kitty Litter as Payment for Parking Tickets

The donations will go to Muncie Animal Care Services, which needs supplies to help care for more than 350 cats and kittens.

MUNCIE, Ind. – Got parking tickets in Muncie? You can pay them off this week with cat food and kitty litter.

It's all to help Muncie Animal Care Services, which is caring for more than 350 cats and kittens but is in desperate need of supplies like cat food, kitty litter, blankets, and paper towels.

In order to drum up donations, Muncie police and the city clerk's office have agreed to allow people to pay off their parking tickets with cat supplies.

If you have a $30 ticket, bring in $30-worth of cat supplies and your fees will be waived. Multiple parking tickets can be paid in the same manner.

Payment can be made at the clerk's office in city hall or at Muncie Animal Care Services.

The special offer is only good this week and ends Friday, July 19 at 4 p.m.
