Murder Charge Dropped Against Second Amanda Blackburn Suspect

Diano Gordon agreed to plead guilty to robbery resuling in bodily injury and burglary.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The second of three men accused of killing Amanda Blackburn in 2015 has agreed to a plea agreement in the case.

Diano Gordon agreed to plead guilty to robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and burglary. The state will dismiss two counts of murder, one count of burglary, and three counts of theft, according to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office.

Gordon has also agreed to cooperate with the prosecutors against another suspect in the case, Larry Jo Taylor Jr.

Gordon, Taylor, and a third suspect, Jalen Watson, were accused of entering Blackburn's house on Sunnyfield Court sometime between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. on the morning of Nov. 10, 2015. According to police, the men assaulted her and then shot her in the head.

All three men were also charged in a series of burglaries on San Clemente Drive and another house on Sunnyfield Court prior to Blackburn’s death.

Gordon is the second suspect to agree to such a deal. In October 2017, Watson agreed to plead guilty to robbery resulting in serious bodily injury and two counts of burglary. He will also cooperate in the case against Taylor.

Taylor's next court hearing is set for June 1.
