New Castle Man Sentenced To Five Years For Sexual Misconduct
NEW CASTLE, Ind. -- A New Castle man is sentenced to five years in prison for having sex with a 15-year-old girl.
Daiyaan "Casanova" Rice, 26, pleaded guilty in January to sexual misconduct with a minor, says the Muncie Star Press.
On Thursday, a judge imposed the five-year sentence, and gave Rice credit for 430 days already spent in the Henry County jail.
In June 2017, Rice engaged in sexual acts with a girl, after taking her to a local hotel and giving her vodka.
The girl's father learned about what was happening, and posed as his daughter on social media an told Rice she may be pregnant.
The father also gave police screenshots of conversations between Rice and the girl.
Rice was arrested in December 2017.
Once Rice is released from prison he will have to register as a sex offender.
